You may notice a helicopter flying around the Seabird Island community Saturday, June 3. Morrow BioScience is returning to assist in our efforts to reduce mosquito populations in our area.

Using a helicopter, Morrow BioScience will be able to target remote mosquito spawning areas to kill the larvae before they grow into mosquitoes. Breeding sites will be treated with a bacterial agent called Bti, which is a naturally-occurring bacterium that is non-toxic to humans, but very toxic to mosquitoes when ingested in the larval stages.

Morrow BioScience Ltd. will begin work at around 9:00 a.m. June 3 and finish by the end of the day.
