We are now moving into the recovery process. We will be inspecting and repairing the damage over the following weeks.
Safety Advisory We have recieved assistance from Forestry Fire Fighters who are out at this time sandbagging low lying areas around Seabird. These are precautionary measures. Everything is ok at this time.
Due to Safety concerns from high waters, debris and unstable banks in the Maria Slough, the Seabird Festival will be cancelling the canoe portion of this event. At this time, the soccer tournaments will be continuing as planned. We look forward to seeing everyone at this year’s Seabird festival.
The Government and EMBC has offered Seabird, Military services for assistance in PRECAUTIONARY MEASURES for low level areas that have had water in the past. You may see Military vehicles in the area DO NOT BE ALARMED they are here to help Seabird in taking proactive cautionary steps with sand bagging previously identified critical areas. [...]
As waters continue to rise; we would like to advise everybody to stay off the gravel and river roads on Seabird. There is no need to panic at this time. Please, enjoy your long weekend.
