Are you or a loved one struggling with addiction? Our Mental Health Workers can help through counseling and finding treatment centres.

Better at Home

We provide free assistance with simple, non-medical tasks that enhance the quality of life of our Elders to help them remain living in their own homes for as long as possible.


The main goal of the family counselor is to provide support and counseling to individuals and families who are affected by addictions as well as intervention and prevention.

Dental clinic

Regular dental checkups are essential for good oral and overall health. During regular dental visits, our dental staff checks for early signs of gum disease, cavities, loose fillings and early signs of oral cancer.

Doctors’ clinic & medical center

We are committed to providing the best medical care available to our clients. The Doctor’s Office offers First Nations and non-First Nations easily accessible, quality health care.

Drivers’ education


We assist in getting your “L” licence and driving lessons to aid you in learning in going for you “N” licence.

Elders’ fitness


Remain healthy and fit throughout life by taking part in Elder’s only Fitness Centre times or have one of our trainers come to your home.

Elders’ group

Join our Elder’s Group to take part in monthly outings, seasonal canning sessions, some much needed pampering, make-and-takes, learn about other services that are available to you.

Home & community care

The Home and Community Care services provide a range of health care and support services for eligible residents who have acute, chronic, palliative or rehabilitative health care needs.

Income tax clinics

The Health Department hosts an Income Tax Clinic for staff, community members and residents each year in March and April.

Legal clinic

Through funding from the Legal Services Society, the Band is able to offer support for individuals who are seeking legal aid or counseling.

Mammogram clinic

The Seabird Island Band welcomes the BC Cancer Society’s Mammogram screening clinic twice a year.

Maternal Child Health


Maternal Child Health program supports First Nation families from pregnancy to child birth and beyond, helping families through the many joys and challenges of having a baby.

Medical Transportation

Through our Medical Transportation program we can give you the funds for specialist appointments as well as detox treatment for alcohol, drug, and solvent abuse.



The Midwifery program provides care to low-risk women and their families during pregnancy, labor, and up to 6 weeks postpartum.

Mobile diabetes program

We provide diabetes care, including vision and blood screening, which will prevent long term complications of Diabetes and improve the quality of life for on-reserve First Nations People.



Get help to eat better and to feel better, learn how to manage or prevent diabetes, attend a group session, or meet with our nutrition and lifestyle educators one-on-one.


The Optometrist provides comprehensive eye exams which focus on your eye health and optimizing your vision.

Out of school care


This licensed childcare program that runs throughout the school year and during breaks. We support healthy, active lifestyles through promoting a variety of nutritious snacks and daily physical activity.

Pre & post natal


The Pre & Post Natal program provides group as well as one-on-one educational services for pregnant or new moms of children up to 1 year and their families.

Prenatal circle


A group for pregnant women and/or moms with newborns and their families that meets twice per month, from 1-3, usually on a Friday.

Traditional healing

Naturopathic medicine is a holistic, coordinated approach to health care that respects the individuality of each person.
