The Head Start Program exists to create a community with healthy, happy children who are supported to reach their full potential and encourage all children to begin a life long journey of learning within a culturally supportive and safe environment.

The Head Start program is a family-centered program designed to meet the individual needs of children and families physically, cognitively, spiritually, emotionally and intellectually and has been designed, developed and implemented around 7 components: Health, Nutrition, Parent and Family Involvement, Stō:ló Culture and Halq’emeylem language, Social Support, Education and Special Needs.

We provide children and families opportunities to enjoy nutritious snacks and meals, activities, circle, culture and language, and fieldtrips. This is a parent participation program. Grandparents welcome!

Drop-in at the Millennium Hall at Seabird Tuesdays and Thursdays 10:00am – 1:00pm. Transportation provided by request.

Parents & Tots drop in takes place at the Millennium Hall on Seabird Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10:00am – 1:00pm.
If you have a First Nations child between 0 and 6 years of age and reside on Seabird Island, Shxw’ow’hamel, and Scowlitz you are eligible to attend Head Start.
