Head Start

The Seabird Island Head Start Parents and Tots is a holistic program that meets the individual needs of your children spiritually, intellectually, physically, cognitively and emotionally. With activities that are enhanced by Sto:lo culture and language. We deliver a holistic First Nations based curriculum to meet the unique and individualistic needs of the communities we serve.

The Seabird Island Head Start Program exists to create a community with healthy, happy children who are supported to reach their full potential and encourage all children to begin a life long journey of learning within a culturally supportive and safe environment. The Head Start program is designed to meet the individual needs of children and families physically, cognitively, spiritually, emotionally and intellectually.

 

Goal
Our goal is to encourage parents as their child’s most important teachers. The Seabird Island Head Start Program exists to create a community with healthy, happy children who are supported to reach their full potential and encourage all children to begin a life long journey of learning within a culturally supportive and safe environment.

 

Am I eligible?
If you have a First Nations child between 0 and 6 years of age and reside on Seabird Island, Shxw’o’hamel, and Scowlitz you are eligible for this service.
