Better at Home
The Stō:ló territory Better at Home program promotes independence for Elders living on-reserve within the traditional Stō:ló territory. We provide free assistance with simple, non-medical tasks that enhance the quality of life of our Elders to help them remain living in their own homes for as long as possible.
Who is eligible for this service? Elders who are 55 years of age or older and are living in the Stō:ló territory. Priority will be given to Elders who are at risk of not being able to remain in their homes.
Our Better at Home team will work with each Elder to schedule our time around their schedules as much as possible.
We can assist with:
- Yard work
- Transportation for daily activities
- Light housekeeping
- Minor home repairs
- Snow shovelling
- And provide friendly visits
We also welcome any ideas on how this service can be even better! Let us know.
