Child And Family Services Jurisdiction

Child and Family Services Jurisdiction is a new program that has started at Seabird Island Band. The main goal of this program is for Seabird Island to have the right to control what happens to the children and families of this community. As of now, we are in the works of researching and coordinating laws and policies to create a full Child and Family Services Program for the members. We will be using Bill C-92 (Government Bill (House of Commons) C-92 (42-1) – Royal Assent – An Act respecting First Nations, Inuit and Métis children, youth and families – Parliament of Canada) and other resources to help guide us through this process.
