Education

Overview

Seabird Island offers culturally-enriching education programs that empower students, adults, parents and families. Our on-reserve school provides a nurturing environment rooted in Stó:lō teachings to spark the flames of knowledge from age 4 onwards.

Students thrive with our balanced curriculum focused on Halq’eméylem language fluency, academic rigor, cultural growth, trades exploration, and real-world skills. Covering junior kindergarten through grade 12, flexible streams welcome unique learning styles.

For adult members we offer GED preparatory courses plus assistance attaining post-secondary funding, college credits, vocational plans, and employment placements after graduation. Our College guides indigenous learning too.

Parents and families gain tools to support their child’s educational and personal success. We host workshops on literacy, numeracy, digital skills, leadership growth, and more. Our Education team empowers the whole family unit because strong communities begin with knowledge.
