Measles Outbreak in the Fraser Health Region

Dear Community Members,

There is an outbreak of measles in our area, Chilliwack. We have information to share with you about measles.

Three locally acquired measles cases have been confirmed in the Fraser Health Region, as noted in the public health announcement linked below. Locally acquired measles cases confirmed in Chilliwack – Fraser Health Authority

Measles infection has been confirmed in three unvaccinated Chilliwack residents since June 20, 2025. Based on the information gathered to date, these cases appear to be locally acquired, with no reported travel history. Fraser Health Public Health is investigating to determine the source of infection.

MMR vaccination is the best way to prevent measles and its complications. Two doses of Measles vaccine are recommended for those born in and after 1970, records are available on Health Gateway.

Where Can I get vaccinated? At your local pharmacy, Community Health Center and your Local Public Health Center.
