Halq’eméylem Intermediate Proficiency Associate Certificate

Halq’eméylem Intermediate Proficiency Associate Certificate. Offered in Partnership with UFV and Seabird Island at Seabird College.
Program Description:
An introduction to the Upriver Halq’eméylem language. Students learn to speak, read, and write the language; examine pronunciation, basic sentence patterns, counting systems, and essential vocabulary; and discover how these aspects interconnect to the Stó:lō’s Indigenous worldview.

- HALQ 101 | September 2025 – December 2025
- HALQ 102 | January 2026 – April 2026
- HALQ 201 | May 2026 – July 2026
- HALQ 202 | September 2026 – December 2026
Open to all Seabird Island Band and Community Members at no cost.
